You can now forward emails directly from the Conversations inbox — no need to hop over to Outlook or Gmail.

📎 Signed URL File Upload API – Large Files Just Got Easier

We’ve also rolled out a major infrastructure upgrade for uploading files in Conversations — especially for WhatsApp users.

The new Signed URL File Upload architecture now enables:

• 📹 100MB file uploads on WhatsApp

• ⚡ Faster, more stable uploads

• 🧠 Smarter file validation + stronger security

🛠 How It Works

We’ve replaced the old method (which buffered files in server memory) with direct-to-cloud streaming using secure signed URLs.

New 3-Step Upload Flow:

1. Initiate (POST /conversations/messages/upload/initiate)
   → Get a signed URL with file metadata

2. Upload (Client → Google Cloud Storage)
   → Upload file directly using the signed URL

3. Complete (POST /conversations/messages/upload/complete)
   → Confirm upload, retrieve public URL

📦 Key Enhancements:

• ✅ Zero Memory Buffering:
  Uploads now bypass the application server — reducing crash risks even with large files.

• ✅ 100MB WhatsApp Uploads:
  Fully supports large media for WhatsApp. Other channels remain at 5MB.

• ✅ File Pre-Validation:
  Oversized or mismatched files are rejected before upload begins — saving time and bandwidth.

• ✅ Content-Type Checks:
  Verifies file types match declared formats. No spoofing, no surprises.

• ✅ Strong Access Controls:
  Uploads are only allowed for valid users with the right permissions. File paths and conversation IDs are tightly validated.
